Pakistan has rejected the allegations that its intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) was involved in recent attack on Afghan Parliament in Kabul.
Qazi Khalilullah, spokesman for Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said that Pakistan is a well-wisher of Afghanistan and committed to its good neighborly relations.
“Pakistan is a well-wisher of Afghanistan and we are committed to good neighborly relations and commitment to our relations with Afghanistan,” he told media on Thursday.
Afghanistan’s spy agency the National Directorate of Security (NDS) had stated that Monday’s attack on Afghan Parliament was orchestrated together by Pakistan’s ISI and Haqani terrorist network in Peshawar city, the provincial capital of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Haseeb Sediqi, NDS spokesman on Wednesday said that Mawlawi Shireen the military commander of Haqani Network masterminded the attack and Bilal who is an officer of Pakistan’s ISI provided financial and logistical support for it. He further said 7.5 Pakistani Rupees were spent on the attack.
The attack which was winded up by an Afghan National Army soldier alone took place on Monday morning when the nominated defense minister Masoum Stanikzai was about to show up at the parliament session.
One attacker carried out a suicide car bomb detonation at the gate of the parliament and other militants planned to enter to the parliament.
An Afghan National Army officer took the position and killed six militants one by one as they were showing up at the entrance.
